What are the Castle Theatre's opening hours?

Our regular opening hours are Monday – Saturday from 10am – 6pm, or until 15 minutes after the start of the last show. The Castle is closed on Sundays, except on performance days when the Box Office will open 1 hour before the event start time and close 15 minutes after the start time. 

Do you charge a booking fee on tickets?

There is currently no booking fee for purchasing tickets at the Castle Theatre.

I can’t come to the performance, will you refund my tickets?

All sales are non-refundable and non-exchangeable except when an event is cancelled. We can resell unwanted tickets, however The Castle’s unsold tickets take priority and a charge of £1 per ticket (to a maximum of £5) will be charged for tickets resold on your behalf.

Who can buy your concession tickets?

We offer a range of concession discounts for selected shows throughout the season, including Under 16s, students, over 60s, Job Seekers and Disabled Patrons. Discounts and special offers (i.e Multibuys, Family Tickets or Promo Codes) are subject to availability. Not all discounts are available on all shows.

Do you offer family discounts?

We aim to offer family discounts on a wide range of our children and family events throughout the season. Unless stated otherwise, a family ticket is applicable for 4 tickets, of which 1 must be a child.

Can you post my tickets to me?

Yes, tickets can be posted to you for a cost of £1.00. If you choose, we can hold your tickets at the Box Office for you to collect for free. A free Print @ Home option is available on selected performances. 

Do you sell and accept theatre tokens?

Until further notice, we cannot accept or sell National Theatre Tokens but we will continue to offer our own Castle Theatre vouchers. 

Where can I find the running times for shows?

Where known, running times are listed on individual event pages.

I’m running late, can I still watch the show?

Our doors usually open 30 minutes before the start time of an event, and we recommend people aim to arrive early and enjoy a drink in our bar area. However, if you are late our stewards will aim to seat you as quickly as possible in a suitable break in the performance.

Do you cater for access requirements?

We want to make your visit as easy and straight-forward as possible, and aim to offer the best facilities to make your trip a success. Please read our access section for more information about our access facilities.

Does The Castle have nearby parking?

The Castle Theatre has free parking to the rear of the building, as well as a number of disabled spaces. On sold out performances the car park may become full, and there is free, overflow parking in the multistory carpark adjacent. Find out how to get to the Castle

Can I buy food at the Castle?

There is a Franks Hamburger House restaurant and bar at the Castle Theatre, serving the freshest, locally produced wholesome food in a relaxed, fun environment.
